Just doing some IT admin today and immediately got very distracted by these holiday pics taken back in 2012 and 2014 in Brussels and Barcelona , both of these beautiful cities have an amazing concentration of unique architectural details and ceramic tiles, so i though it was time to share these little documents of a designers perspective , it drove my partner insane at the time, stopping and taking pictures every few minutes , but hopefully with the fruits of this inspiration i have now been forgiven ?

Barcelona - beautiful glazed sgraffito style tiles on a building facade 1960's ? I'm completely in love with any copper verdigris like colours. I'm not sure of the chemical origins of this glaze, buts its just gorgeous , and looks to be standing the test of time beautifully.
Barcelona , perfect example of a 1970's tile, i hope these are still around as the building was being renovated. I just hate how sometimes people just want to obliterate and discard any evidence of perceived cringe worthy eras. I think that if its high quality its worth considering saving, even sometimes ugly is an aesthetic, or becomes beautiful over time?
Brussels / Bruxelles gorgeous I'm going to go with 40's era MCM brutalist? style architectural window grill/screen. If only all security grills were this gorgeous.
Just an example of how irritating it can be when travelling with a designer , for this pic i waited for the sun to go down so the internal lighting shone through making it look lovely warm from the inside, only took 5 mins , but my partner was seething.
Egypt, Egypt, Egyption lover, couldn't resist :). Look at how this sand cast bronze handle has been hand painted, and look at this matching pressed metal panels on the door, such a beautiful way to secure you're property in the badlands of Brussels. It's really a gorgeous place but it does have a slightly harder edge than it's surrounding european capitols, however weirdly its actually one of those cities i'd consider moving to, even if fuze isn't what it used to be.
This fucking ace door handle was in Bruxelle/Brussels as well , looks to be cast aluminium , great glass door as well 40-50's era? They just don't put any effort into door handles anymore, i think the entrance to your home should send a message of reverence and pride of place.
